Funding Guidelines for Digital Development in the Creative and Cultural Industries

The Fund for Digital Development in the Creative and Cultural Industries is an initiative of the Berlin State Senate Department for Culture and Europe designed to increase participation in cultural activities.

The aim of the Berlin State Senate Department for Culture and Europe is to help Berlin’s creatives and cultural organisations take advantage of the opportunities offered by digital technology and make active use of new technologies. It does this in line with its Funding Guidelines for Digital Development in the Creative and Cultural Industries.

The programme centres on enabling funding recipients to master digital technologies and methods, the acquisition of practical skills and the promotion of public information and discussion.

The funding programme offers financial support for clearly defined digital projects. Applications are open to Berlin cultural organisations, members of Berlin’s Freie Szene or independent arts community, and loose groupings of individuals who live and work primarily in Berlin. The various tiers (central, regional and local) of state government receive earmarked funds that they are free to manage in line with their own policy agendas.
